TPL Teens. (n.d.). Retrieved March 23, 2017, from http://torontopubliclibrary.typepad.com/teens/
Toronto Public Library’s teen section has a similar layout to the rest of the TPL website: the colour scheme and template are the same, minus the “tpl TEENS” font across the top. It has a twitter widget and a selection of category tags to browse. It feels like it’s a separate section of the TPL website, with the top menu to navigate the Teen Section. The homepage is a list of recent articles and blog posts. The top bar includes typical sections for teen pages, such as Volunteer and Homework Help, but also includes links to Booklists and Reviews (separated by Teen Picks and Staff Picks), “Young Voices”, TPL’s teen magazine, Events, and Employment. Events are similar to Whistler Public Library’s Event pages, with many links being cross-posted for teens and adults. The webpage doesn’t just focus on TPL events or programs: there are lists of events happening in Toronto and places where teens may be interested in volunteering. Almost every page has a link to teen volunteer programs within TPL, including the Young Voices magazine and Teen Readers Advisory.
